Stop Weaponizing Chadwick Boseman
August 28th was a day that lives in infamy for much of the country Chadwick Boseman the Hollywood actor and superstar of Black Panther, 42, and the Thurgood Marshall story passed away at the age of 43 from colon cancer. It appears that he was diagnosed in 2016, and very few people were aware of his diagnosis, and he succumbed to the disease this past Friday.
Certainly those of us who were fans of his work and much of Hollywood are in shock and disbelief that something like that could happen to someone so young, someone so vibrant, and someone so full of talent. My prayers go out to his family to his millions of fans and to all those who loved him . But I want to say something that I think is very important to individuals because I see many people on the Internet who are weaponizing him and when I say weaponizing him, I’m talking about using his life and the way he lived to make other people feel bad about themselves they’re not doing the same things .
Cancer is a devastating disease; the diagnosis alone is life altering and debilitating for many. It’s a huge cross to bear, and you don’t ever get over the death of losing someone to such a devastating disease and to find out that Chadwick Boseman waged that battle and did the bulk of his body of work while fighting the disease, is admirable, it’s heroic, but that’s not everybody’s story. The truth is there are many of us regular Joes…
