Meghan Markle: Unbought and Unbossed

In a press release that sent both shockwaves through Great Britain and the United States alike, earlier this week, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, and her husband, Prince Harry, announced they would be scaling back as senior members of the Royal family, and splitting their time between Great Britain and North America.

As I write this, Meghan is in Canada with the nanny, and baby Archie, and Prince Harry is in Britain tying up loose ends with his overbearing, pomp and circumstance, family!

Meghan has never been about tradition. Prior to marrying Harry, she was an actress, which is a very nontraditional career choice. Rather than being a latte guzzling narcissist like many Hollywood elites, Meghan has used her platform for the promotion of feminism and empowering other women. We are not talking about the white women’s version of self-absorbed, selfish feminism. We are talking about the Black women’s kind, which looks out for the benefit of all women.

So for anyone who’s being paying attention, since she made her first speech at the age of 11, Wednesday’s press release, does not come as a shock. In fact, last May when she gave birth to baby Archie, one could surmise, she was not long for the Royal fuckshit. It’s not so much the pomp and circumstance, or her duties, it’s the control, and the outright racism.
